Library Information

Library Hours:  Due to the Corona Virus, our physical library is not open for students. However, students may use Destiny Discover, the library catalog, to search the library for books and submit a Book Request (this Google Form can also be found on the Library Canvas Course or throughout Destiny Discover).  Once you request a book, I'll send you an email telling you when it's available for pickup.  

Can't make it to school to pick up your books?  I would love to deliver them to you.  On the Google Form, there is an option for you to request your books be delivered.  Make sure you choose that to get the books you want to read!!

Chromebook Office: The Chromebook office is currently located in the back of the library.  Students are welcome to drop by the Chromebook office before and after school.  Passes are required during class periods. Wed Al Obaidi supports our students with Chromebook issues.

College and Career Readiness Office: The Career and College Readiness office is located on the left-side of the library - the first door on the left.  Karla Rios is our College and Career Readiness specialist. 425-431-4172

Student Support Advocate Office: The Student Support Advocate's Office is located on the left side of the library - the second door on the left.

The Brier Terrace Middle School Library welcomes all students and families. Through our library, we aim to:

* foster reading enjoyment by sharing high-quality literature in a nurturing environment
* provide equitable access to resources that reflect diverse perspectives, cultures and experiences
* teach our students to use information and technology tools that prepare them for now and in the future
* educate media literate digital citizens who are responsible and ethical users of information

** If you are ever feeling unsafe or you need to talk, the library is always open for you!

Karen Kasprzyk is the full-time librarian. She has served Brier Terrace Middle School students since 1998, teaching both 7th and 8th Grade Humanities before moving into the library in 2018.  Prior to BTMS, she taught ESL at Edmonds Community College. She graduated from both the State University of New York at Buffalo and Seattle Pacific University and completed her Library Endorsement at Central Washington University.
